Roe Deer Hunting in the Beautiful Winter Wonderland of Gålö

Place: Gålö naturreservatHaninge Municipality, Sweden
Coordinates: Lat: 59.11089, Lon: 18.27711
Time: 1 day in Janury

I'd like to thank Gålö for a great day of hunting. Beautiful landscape, well organized and a lot of good working dogs. I got to be one of eleven hunting guests out at Gålö this day, and we got to see a lot of game. Good to see that the population of Deer are increasing on Gålö. I'm guessing, besides well administered hunting, last year's mild Winter has contributed to this.

We managed to cover three hunting grounds in one day and for me it got the most exiting when two Bucks entered my zone in the morning... a beautiful sight. However the two young animals stayed tight together so I had to let them go, because of the risk of wounding the animal in the background, if shooting on the game in front.

By the end of the day one Deer was dressed and rosy cheeked hunters was grateful for a perfect day in the woods.

Opinel - French Knife Culture - Vapentidningen no 1 - 2015

Next week this years first issue of Vapentidningen will hit the stores (no 1 - 2015). In this mag you'll find lots of interesting reading. For instance; Fredrik Odebring's testing of Blaser's new BD 14, Henrik Kalling's words on the Sig Sauer P226 LDC and also Jens Erik Perto's historical view on Rigby rifles.

My contribution in this issue is an article about the classical French knife maker Opinel. The three page long article gives a taste of the company history and my view on the products, with focus on the Tradition series. I hope you'll enjoy the article, your feedback is always welcome.

Grateful for a Great Year

Another year has passed and I'm looking back on it with grateful eyes. Of course the leading role of 2014 was well played by our newborn daughter Miriam. I'm so looking forward to exploring the outdoors together with my two beautiful daughters Sonia and Miriam.

2014 offered a lot of inspiring meetings and good hunting adventures. But if I only had to pick one Jonas Vildmark memory it has to be the fact that 2014 was the year when I started offering scheduled outdoors training. This was great fun and now I'm looking forward offering even more courses during 2015. Hope to see You on one of them!

May the new year bring you loads of exciting and relaxing outdoor adventures. But first; take the opportunity to enjoy the Christmas and New Year's Spirit together with your loved ones, and don't forget the ones in need.

Happy New Year!
